The New Deal (Part 2) – What is Money? (Sermon by Pastor Davis)

Preparation for the final crisis

“And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine. And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth. And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.” (Genesis 47:13-16)

What Abraham was in the land of his sojourn, what Joseph was in Egypt, and Daniel in the courts of Babylon, the Hebrew people were to be among the nations. They were to reveal God to men.” {DA 27.2}

Every institution established by Seventh-day Adventists is to be to the world what Joseph was in Egypt and what Daniel and his fellows were in Babylon. As in the providence of God these chosen ones were taken captive, it was to carry to heathen nations the blessings that come to humanity through a knowledge of God. They were to be representatives of Jehovah. They were never to compromise with idolaters; their religious faith and their name as worshipers of the living God they were to bear as a special honor. {CH 203.1}

Preparation For The Final Crisis (Part 1) – What is Money? (Sermon by Pastor Davis)

In light of the clear signs that we are living in the last days, just before a complete economic collapse and the end of civilization as we know it, we pray that this series would assist you in your preparation for the coming crisis, “Preparation for the final crisis- What is money” By Pastor Jeremiah Davis.  (See video below) Get your Bible and SOP, take notes.  2Ti 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.  And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.  (Daniel 11:43-12:1)

The Scriptures describe the condition of the world just before Christ’s second coming. James the apostle pictures the greed and oppression that will prevail. He says, “Go to now, ye rich men, … ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton. Ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.” James 5:1-6

The government shutdown and the debt ceiling

One crisis after another, when does it all end?  Where are we in the process of time?  “Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come. An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come. The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains. (Ezekiel 7:5-7)

Whether or not an agreement is reached before the “debt ceiling” deadline, or whether or not the government reopens, it does not change the fact that the entire world is in agitation, and is “on the verge of a stupendous crisis”.  We are moving from crisis to crisis and even living within multiple crises.

We are standing upon the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecies are fulfilling. Strange, eventful history is being recorded in the books of heaven. Everything in our world is in agitation. … Events are changing to bring about the day of God which hasteth greatly. Only a moment of time, as it were, yet remains. ” Testimonies for the Church 6:14. {ChS 51.5}

The Chinese government that has invested heavily in the US government bonds, are expressing concerns over the “government shutdown” and the”debt ceiling” and they are calling for a “new world order

“As U.S. politicians of both political parties are still shuffling back and forth between the White House and the Capitol Hill without striking a viable deal to bring normality to the body politic they brag about, it is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanized world,” said Xinhua.

China has more than a passing interest in a possible U.S. default; it is by far the biggest holder of American debt, some $1.28 trillion.

Xinhua also editorialized: “Days when the destinies of others are in the hands of a hypocritical nation have to be terminated, and a new world order should be put in place, according to which all nations, big or small, poor or rich, can have their key interests respected and protected on an equal footing.” USA TODAY

Neither the US government, nor any other government in the world has the answer for the perplexities that we face today, the answer to all of man’s perplexity can be found in the word of God.

There are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are not able to solve the problem of moral corruption, poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis. If men would give more heed to the teaching of God’s word, they would find a solution of the problems that perplex them.” {9T 13.3}

What is all these crisis leading to, “the mark of the beast”, “the Sunday Law”

  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (Revelation 13:16-17)
